Ram started his acting career in 2002 with a Tamil short film Adayalam and won the title of Best Actor at the European Movies Festival. The producer and director of the film were awarded the Notable Film at the New Jersey Art Film Festival.
In addition, he auditioned for the lead role in Kadal. He made his debut in 2006 with Devadasu and the film became a blockbuster at the box office running for 175 days in more than 17 centers and completed 205 days at Hyderabad Odion 70mm theater. Her second film was Monadalisa opposite Jagadam and was directed by Sukumar but did not succeed at the box office. He then appeared in Ready with Genelia D'Souza.
The film was directed by Seenu Vaitla and was a huge success. In 2009, he released two films, Maska and Ganesh Bas Ganesh.
